So what is a red herring? A red herring is when you are misled and the real problem is hidden from you. While companies like to turn to AI solutions, these so-called “solutions” are often only a bandage to cover up your real problems. And those bandages quickly come unstuck because AI is often not the solution to your problems. Instead, you may need to focus on your data or your data strategy. Or on your business intelligence implementation.
You’re not to blame. It’s easy to get misled by the allure of AI. But you must be aware of those red herrings and ignore them to get to the core of your real (often data- or BI-related) problems.
